30 Rock

This is 30 Rockefeller Plaza or as the comedy TV show is named, 30Rock. The Rockefeller Center complex was named after John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and consists of 22 acres and 19 buildings between 48th and 51st Street in New York City.  30 Rockefeller Center, shown here, is the GE building (formerly the RCA Building).  It’s the headquarters for NBC and houses many of the networks studios that has produced shows such as Saturday Night Live, Late Night with David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, and Jimmy Fallon. It’s also home to NBC News.

Here’s my interpretation of 30Rock.  It’s not the standard scene taken from in front of the skating rink with Prometheus, but off to the side.  The evening I was there the trees were lit with lights and the air was fairly still allowing the United Nations flags to point skyward surrounding the GE building.  This is 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

30Rock - Looking up at the Rockefeller Center from the the skating rink area through the trees and the flags of the countries.

  • What an awesome perpective of 30 Rock. Nice work buddy, this is sick.

  • Love how even the flags follow the same lines as the building while the trees provide a contrasting line. Crazy cool!

  • Fantastic image Rick. I love the POV and the lighting is awesome.

  • Fantastic POV – The greens in the flags echo the greens in the trees and help emphasise the sense of symmetry. I really like this.
