It’s been quite a while since I’ve done some urban photography, but this past weekend I had the opportunity to be a part of Flickr’s 10th Anniversary photo walk here in Denver. My good friends, Armando Martinez and Justin Balog hosted the event and it was quite a nice turnout.
Denver Union Station is a landmark here in Denver and its first train station build in the 1860’s. It served the Denver Pacific Railway. In the heyday it served as and Amtrak station for as many as 80 trains daily from Chicago to California.
Denver Union Station is currently under redevelopment for the Rapid Transit District and will ultimately become an office, retail, residential and transportation hub here in Denver. The construction is about complete and the security guards were nice enough to let us take a few shots within the complex. Here’s the new Union Station under the late afternoon blue skies.
