Fall Friday

It’s a Fall Friday!  It’s been a great season for fall colors here in Colorado and today I thought I would bring some view from two locations today, Boreas Pass and the Lead King Basin.  Yesterday I gave you a little taste of Boreas Pass and a view of the fall colors in front of Mt. Silverheels.  Today I give you a panoramic view of the horizon full of aspens.

The bonus image today come from Lead King Basin in the Maroon Bells/Snowmass wilderness near the small town of Marble, Colorado.  The Lead King Loop is a off-road trail only accessible by 4WD and goes by the famous Crystal Mill (an image which I’ll publish soon) a mill run by compressor used to power the Crystal City.  During the spring and early summer the Lead King basin is full of wild flowers and in the fall it’s filled with the wonderful colors of aspens.

If you’re in Denver, come out to the Tennyson Art District for the First Friday Art Walk.  I’ll be at the opening reception of gallerynrc’s Mobile Phone Juried Show from 6-10pm. Two of my iPhone photos  will be featured at the show.  I hope to see you there.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Very nice images Rick. I am really jealous of your Colorado shots as I just love the area and wish I could spend more time there. Thanks for letting me see the places I am missing. Good luck with the show.

  2. Fantastic shots man! I love the top one. I haven’t been out to Colorado at this time of the year in so many years. I need to get out there! I saw they are getting snow again up in the high country! Yay for ski season!

    1. Yep. I went up to Central City last night to try to capture some fall colors and it got cold and windy. I know Vail got snow yesterday and it’s might snow down here in Denver this weekend. Hopefully a good ski season!
