It’s Friday so I thought I would make this a Film Friday. I just developed a couple of rolls of black and white film and thought I would share some images from recent trips to The Great Sand Dunes National Park and from the NxNW tour to Moab, Utah.
I’ve been experimenting with my old Minolta X-700 and a 50mm f/1.4. It’s really been years since shooting film, but there is something satisfying about hearing the mechanical click of the shutter and advancing the roll of film with your thumb on a lever. I really love the prism focus and the smooth manor of turning the lens to get it into focus. I can’t chimp any longer and find myself looking at the back of the camera to see what image I’ve captured only to find that I have the box label from a roll of Ilford Delta 400 on the back of my camera.
I really enjoy the film grain and just some of the randomness of captures that aren’t always perfect. Have a great Memorial Day weekend! Get out and see the world out your front door!
