Mobile Phone Art Show

I entered a few of my iPhone photos into gallery nrc’s Mobile Phone Juried show a while back and two of my photos were selected to be in the show.  It’s amazing what you can do on your mobile phone these days and I’ll say I enjoy taking pictures with it almost as much as with my dSLR.  It’s always with me and can capture the moment while you are out and about.

I dropped off my finished art work earlier this week and I was amazed at some of the photos that will be presented in the show. They are top quality photographs.  It just goes to show you don’t need a Mega $1000 super-duper SLR to take wonderful photographs.  My friend Justin Balog has a wonderful iPhone tutorial on his site and he’s the one that really got me hooked on capturing and creating images on my iPhone.

If you are in the Denver area the show runs from September 30th – October 22nd at gallery nrc.  The opening reception will be on October 7, 2011 from 6pm to 10pm as part of the First Friday Art Walk in the Tennyson Art District.  Stop by and say “Hi!”  I’d love to meet you.

I’m heading to the mountains of Colorado this weekend to try to capture some of the fall colors here locally.  I hope you can enjoy the fall season in your area this weekend.

Here are the two images selected for the show.  If you follow me on Twitter or on may have seen these photos already.  Have a great weekend!

  1. Awesome stuff, Rick. Congratulations!
These shots are amazing. The first one has a tilt-shift look. Sweet!

I’m on my iPhone as I leave this comment, so I will pull all of this up on the desktop when I get home. Will also visit the sites you’ve included here.

Nice post, man. Have a great weekend. 😉
As you know, there are several HDR apps out that are fun to use.

  2. Beautiful shots!! You are correct, you don’t need all the bells and whistles to get good shots. What is that saying? The best camera is the one you have on you? 🙂
