String Lake

String lake is one of the small lakes that is in between Jenny Lake and Leigh Lake.  Jenny Lake and Leigh Lake were named after early settlers Dick and Jenny Leigh, which is a story I’ll tell some other time.  If you are ever in this area, the wonderful Jenny Lake Lodge is nearby and is a 5-Star restaurant in the park.  If you make reservations for lunch you can get the 5-star meals at a lunch time price.  Dinner reservations are hard to come by and very expensive.  It’s one of this hidden lunch time treasures of the park.

  • Great composition Rick. Like how the tree limb and the rocks create a leading line. I’ve been to the Lodge but haven’t eaten there. Will hare to the next time I am there.

  • Nice composition Rick! Love the leading lines from the fallen tree to the mountains and how the tree frames the shoreline.

  • This shot is amazing. What a great view and you’ve composed it so well. Awesome, man.

  • Wow, that lake looks like glass Rick! Amazing work man

  • Gorgeous shot dude! Great composition using the dead tree in the foreground.

  • Awesome shot Rick! Gorgeous spot.

  • Man, such a good shot. Just perfect my friend!

  • Very clever use of the tree to link with the rocks and shoreline – that really holds the image together. You spotted the POV exactly! Well done, Rick

  • Beautiful scene well captured.
