Thomas Moulton Barn Illuminated

My last trip to Grand Teton National Park I worked with Jeff Clow on his Dirt Cheap Photo Tours and gave a little session on long exposures.  We went out the Thomas Moulton Barn along Mormon row and did some light painting.  It was fun to see people’s faces light up as they captured their first long exposure.  This is one of the images I came away with that evening.  It’s a little different look at the Thomas Moulton Barn then you normally see in photos.  My unique perspective on the classic barn.

  1. This is a very different and unique view of this icon Rick. Didn’t know you worked with Jeff. I’ve been considering taking one of his tours next year. Well done, my friend.

    1. Len, Jeff will take you to the iconic places during his photo tours. His tours aren’t intended to give you instruction on how to take pictures, but get you to the picturesque spots at the right time of the day. He will give you tips on taking pictures if you ask, but the nice thing is you are out shooting 12-16 hours a day and not stuck in a class room. It’s not your typical photo tour, but then again you don’t pay the typical high prices either. He’s also got some unique spots that you don’t see very often. He’s very well connected in the Grand Teton area since he’s been going there for the past 10-11 years.

    1. Adam, the bottom of the barn is fuzzy probably due to the long grass or could be some inaccuracies with doing the light painting with the flashlight.

  2. Thanks for the shout out and kind words about my tours, Rick – much appreciated.

This night shot turned out REALLY well. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques with me and others – you are a fine instructor.
