365 Day Black and White Challenge - Day 1
Welcome to my personal blog. This is where I share some of my personal work, photography related gear, techniques that I use and other personal items that don’t really fit in the Featured Stories (Wedding, Portrait and Event work) or my Adventure Blog (Landscapes, Expeditions, Travel).
So for the new year, I wanted to start a 365 day challenge that ended before the end of next year so I could summarize next year end. I’ve always kind of struggled some with black and white photography and more or less it’s been an after thought for an image so this year in wanting to learn and gain more personal knowledge I’m challenging myself to creating a black and white image every day for a year. I actually started yesterday and so I’ll post my first image up today. I’ll try to post the image the next day, but that’s not a guarantee, but will shoot daily and do some catch up when I’m back in my office and can post up properly within this blog.
Most of my images will be digital, but I do have 3 rolls of Fuji Neopan Acros B&W film sitting in the freezer and I’ve so this will hopefully get me kickstarted in using my film camera to capture some pictures as well. Those definitely won’t be shared the next day. I’ll probably back post those images.
If you aren’t following my Facebook page I’ll post up an album for the challenge and you can catch up on images in the 365 Day B&W Photo Album. Follow me on Instagram as well and you can see my daily image through my Instagram Stories.
Ok, well welcome to my personal blog. Here’s Day 1 of the 356 Day Black and White Challenge Image. My wife and I wanted to get out of the house yesterday and go for a drive so we drove the Peak to Peak Highway from Black Hawk/Central City to Estes Park. Along the way is the Saint Malo's Chapel on the Rock. The Chapel on the Rock is a functioning Catholic chapel in Allenspark, Colorado and is situated with Mt. Meeker as a backdrop. The beauty of this church is usually in the spring or summer at sunrise, but I like how the B&W captured this image mid morning with the bluebird skies.
There will be a gallery of images from 365 Day B&W Photo Challenge located Here
